With our minor release 4.12.0 we introduced several new features, improvements and bugfixes. See the most important updates below:
New Features & Improvements:
- A Clearer and More Efficient Step Experience: We have refined key elements of the step flow to support more confident navigation and reduce unnecessary clicks:
- Improved step tiles: Steps are now arranged horizontally, providing a cleaner overview that scales well even for large studies with many steps.
- Enhanced progress indicators: Each tile highlights fill-out progress more clearly, helping users instantly see which steps require attention.
- Better visibility when a step contains no forms yet: Tiles now clearly show when no forms are available yet, preventing confusion and extra navigation.
- Smarter navigation: The “Navigate to” dropdown displays the progress of each step, allowing users to jump directly to the next relevant item.
- Improvements to Step Locking and Signatures: To streamline work during monitoring, data‑freeze, and step‑completion phases, we are simplifying locking and signing workflows:
- Lock or sign an entire step directly from the step tile: Finalize a whole step with a single action — no need to open and lock/sign individual forms.
- Clear signature and lock icons at study‑step level: Users can quickly spot missing signatures or locks and see the overall status at a glance.
- Additional Improvements
- Query status filtering in the subject overview: Filter subjects by open, ongoing, or closed queries at subject, step, or form level. This helps quickly identify outstanding issues and supports processes like query‑based site remuneration.
- Extended partial‑date validations: Partial dates (e.g., only month and/or year) can now follow stricter validation rules — such as preventing future dates — ensuring more complete and reliable data.
- All updates are also available in the survey module, where applicable.
