As 2024 draws to a close, it’s time to look back at Climedo’s most popular content of the year. Through our webinars, whitepapers and other publications, we have once again been able to connect many people. At a total of seven webinars with renowned speakers, we were able to learn more about the constantly evolving healthcare sector and new technologies. Here is a summary of the most important content of the year.
1) Climedo Connect: Unlocking RWE’s Potential for HCP Engagement
Our first Climedo Connect webinar of the year with Dr. Helene Vioix (former Director Global Evidence & Value Development Oncology at Merck) highlighted the importance of real-world evidence in healthcare. RWE provides valuable insights into the effectiveness and costs of treatments, the optimization of treatment pathways and the improvement of clinical outcomes. They also discussed how innovative evidence can be used to redefine the standard of care. Watch the recording of the webinar.
2) Climedo Connect: RWE-Mastery – From Real-World Data Capture to Evidence-Based Decision Making
The next Climedo Connect webinar with Hendrik Stork from IQVIA presented how Real-World Data can be used effectively to make data-based decisions and promote patient-centric healthcare. The focus was on maximizing patient and HCP engagement with minimal effort and a combination of retrospective and longitudinal data for high data quality and a comprehensive understanding of the market. You can watch the full recording here.
3) Survey of study physicians on the status quo of clinical research
In collaboration with Siteworks Clinical Research, we conducted a survey of 66 study physicians in Europe between fall 2023 and spring 2024 to understand their views on clinical trials and the current state of research. The most important reasons for physicians to take part in a trial were the advancement of science, challenges in patient recruitment, fair remuneration, realistic recruitment times and anonymized patient data. Download your free copy of the survey results here.
4) Climedo Connect: Inside the Minds of Clinical Trial Physicians: Key Motivators, Challenges and Needs
In the next Climedo Connect webinar in May, the results of the study physician survey were presented together with Prof. Lothar Färber (former CSO of Novartis). The focus was on valuable insights and suggestions on how to improve the collaboration between study physicians, sponsors and CROs in clinical trials. Watch the recording of the webinar to learn more about the results of the survey, the use of digital solutions and the interactive discussion.
5) Climedo Connect: From Data to Insights: Leveraging GenAI in Real-World Evidence Studies
The following Climedo Connect webinar in June with Dragan Mileski (Co-Founder and CTO of Climedo) provided a comprehensive overview of the possibilities of GenAI and showed how it can be usefully integrated into RWE studies. The focus was on the basics of GenAI, main applications in post-market studies and best practices for clinical research. Get the full webinar recording here.
6) Whitepaper: Bridging Patient and Physician Perspectives in Clinical Trials
In the summer 2024, we published a new Whitepaper. The aim was to gain insights into two comprehensive surveys in order to compare the views of study participants and study physicians. Despite their different perspectives, both are equally important for the success of a study. Understanding their needs and expectations is essential to conducting clinical trials effectively. By considering these perspectives, a holistic understanding of the study environment is created that promotes patient-centric and efficient processes. Download the full Whitepaper here.
7) Climedo Connect: Digital Therapeutics Unmasked: What Does the Future Hold?
We kicked off the autumn with another Climedo Connect webinar: Dr. Spencer Jones (Digital Health Consultant and former Executive Director – Global Digital Health at Bristol Myers Squibb) shed light on the developments and challenges in the field of Digital Therapeutics (DTx). DTx are software-based interventions for the treatment and management of medical conditions that offer great potential to improve health outcomes. Watch the full webinar on demand here.
8) Whitepaper: Harnessing the Power of GenAI in RWE Studies
Our new Whitepaper, published in the autumn of 2024, addressed the question of how GenAI can optimize RWE studies. Regulatory compliance and data security measures are essential for the responsible use of GenAI in the healthcare sector. Important steps include the use of medically trained AI models, the implementation of robust quality assurance measures and compliance with ethical standards. Access the full Whitepaper here.
9) Climedo Connect: Patient Centricity and RWE – How Each Amplifies and Promotes the Other
During our second-to-last Climedo Connect webinar of the year, we discussed the increasing importance of patient-centric research in combination with Real-World Data to transform healthcare. Experts Ella Balasa (Patient Advocacy and Engagement Consultant) and Dr. Chris Pashos (expert in RWE and patient-centric healthcare) shared their expertise with attendees and highlighted practical strategies to use RWE and patient-centric data to achieve significant improvements in patient care. The full recording is available here.
10) Clinical Research Meets Real-World: AI, eCOA and Digital Endpoints
In December, we hosted our final Climedo Connect webinar of the year together with Dr. Alexandre Malouvier, Ph.D. (Senior Director Scientific Affairs & Digital Innovation, eClinical Development & Delivery at ICON). Here, Alexandre shared his expertise on the rapidly changing healthcare landscape. He also explained why the future lies in automation and what role AI-powered solutions will play here.
